On Saturday, 29 August 2026, Sanctuary Mandela will host a special wine-paired luncheon celebrating the 10th anniversary of Aslina Wines – a milestone honouring the remarkable journey of founder and award-winning South African winemaker, Ntsiki Biyela.

This exclusive event is a celebration not only of exceptional wines, but of determination, leadership and the people who continue to shape South Africa’s story.

One of South Africa’s most respected and pioneering winemakers, Ntsiki Biyela has inspired a new generation through her passion, resilience and unwavering commitment to excellence. Since founding Aslina Wines in 2016, she has spent the past decade producing internationally acclaimed wines while breaking barriers and creating opportunities for women in the South African wine industry.

Guests will enjoy a thoughtfully curated three-course menu, with each course expertly paired with wines from the Aslina collection. Inspired by Madiba’s appreciation for honest, flavourful food, the menu reflects Sanctuary Mandela’s philosophy of honouring his culinary heritage through refined contemporary African cuisine.

Throughout the afternoon, guests will discover the stories behind the wines while enjoying exceptional food, warm hospitality and celebrating Ntsiki Biyela’s remarkable journey.

As part of the celebration, guests will have the opportunity to participate in a charity auction featuring rare Aslina Wines, including collectible magnums, commemorative calabashes and wooden cases of the first Umsasane 2015 vintage.

All proceeds will support the Pinotage Youth Development Academy (PYDA), a non-profit organisation that equips young South Africans aged 18–25 with the skills and opportunities to build careers in the wine and hospitality industries.
