Heritage Tour at Sanctuary Mandela

Walk Through the Story

Step inside Nelson Mandela’s former home in Houghton and discover the stories, spaces and values that shaped one of the world’s most respected leaders.

Sanctuary Mandela offers an intimate guided heritage tour through a property rich with memory, meaning and reflection. Once part of Madiba’s private residence and later home to the Nelson Mandela Foundation, the house has been thoughtfully restored and reimagined as a place where history, hospitality and legacy come together.

This is more than a tour. It is an opportunity to connect with the personal side of Nelson Mandela — the man, the leader, the host and the human being behind the global icon.
