Sanctuary Mandela is seeking an experienced and service-driven Hotel Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of our distinctive nine-room boutique hotel. Set in Nelson Mandela’s former residence, Sanctuary Mandela offers curated accommodation and meaningful spaces inspired by Madiba’s life and legacy. In this senior role, you will provide strategic and operational leadership across hotel operations, guest services and staff management while helping the business compete successfully in the hospitality and tourism sector.
Minimum Requirements and Qualifications
- Matric and a NQF 6/7 qualification in Hospitality, Tourism or a related field.
- A relevant postgraduate qualification will be advantageous.
- At least 6 years’ overall experience, including a minimum of 4 years in a leadership role.
- Previous experience managing a similar hospitality operation.
- Strong entrepreneurial, teamwork and written and verbal communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to executive-level strategy and translate strategic goals into operational plans.
- Lead hotel operations, staff management and the delivery of an exceptional guest experience.
- Oversee front office, guest relations, food and beverage, cleaning services and night auditing.
- Develop and manage departmental budgets, resources and quality-control measures.
- Manage daily operational challenges and implement processes that minimise errors.
