  • Accommodation in Nelson Mandela’s bedroom Breakfast and dinner daily One dinner hosted by a friend of Madiba - per stay and subject to availability – note: can only be arranged if booking is made at least 7 days prior to stay.
  • Tour around the Nelson Mandela Foundation inclusive of tour into the archive vaults (subject to availability as the vault visit is an exclusive activity and normally not open to the general public)

  Child and pet policy:
  Children below the age of 12 and pets will not be allowed to stay or use the facilities at Sanctuary Mandela.

  Reservations Terms and Conditions
  Deposit:
  We require a 50% deposit within 10 working days of a reservation confirmation. Sanctuary Mandela reserves the right to cancel the reservation should we not receive the deposit within 10 days. The balance of payment is required upon arrival.

  Cancellation:
  Cancellation or part cancellation (reduction in number of rooms or nights) of a confirmed reservation, including changing the dates of travel, could result in the loss of the 50% deposit on the following bases: cancellation within 48 hours of arrival will result in 100% cancellation fees.

  In the case of a global event affecting the ability to travel for reasons out of the control of the guest, Sanctuary Mandela will allow changing of travel dates without penalty. If the guest would prefer to cancel their reservation in this case, the refund will be considered case-by-case and terms negotiated to the best interest of both parties involved.

  Payment:
  Our rates are quoted and payable in ZAR (South African Rands. Payments below R50 000 can be processed with Visa and Mastercard. Direct transfers can be made into our bank account for all payments above R50 000. All payments should be made in full and free of any bank charges.

  Travel Information
  Travel insurance:
  Travel insurance is recommended, covering for personal effects, personal accident, medical and emergency travel expenses, as well as cancellation and curtailment – as the reservation will be subject to cancellation penalties as detailed above

  Visas and passports:
  Visa Requirements are to be checked before departure. All visitors to South Africa are required by law to have a minimum of two blank pages in their passport to enable the entry visa to be issued. If there is insufficient space in the passport, entry will be denied.

  Airline tickets:
  In order to comply with international insurance requirements, all airline tickets must clearly show the passengers title, name and surname (as indicated in their passport). This applies to scheduled and charter flights. We would be grateful if you could provide us with the correct information at the time of making your reservation. Sanctuary Mandela cannot be held responsible should airlines discontinue flights or change a scheduled timetable resulting in missed connection.
